What happens if my company balance goes negative?

In this article, we explain what happens to your account when your company balance goes negative and how to restore full access.

If the total available balance of your Combo Cards account goes negative, your account is not blocked - it switches to a restricted mode until the balance is topped up.

Level 1: balance below $0

  • You will see a notice that the company balance is negative.

  • Only balance top-up is available.

  • Issuing new cards, topping up cards, changing card limits and outgoing transfers are unavailable.

  • Cards that are already issued keep working.

Level 2: balance below -$100

  • All Level 1 restrictions apply.

  • All company cards get the Locked status, and payments with them are declined until the balance is topped up.

How to restore access to your account?

To lift the restrictions, your total company balance needs to be positive again.

  1. Log in to your Combo Cards account.

  2. Top up your company balance so that the total balance is positive again.

  3. Wait a few minutes after the funds are credited. Your cards will be unlocked automatically, and full access to your account will be restored.

⚠️ Important: if you are a team member and cannot top up the balance yourself, ask the company owner to add funds.

What if only one card’s balance goes negative?

If the balance of a single card goes negative, not the whole company balance, the restrictions apply only to that card.
